Business meeting in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
It was held at the Renaissance Hotel sponsored by JETRO.
Meeting with interpreter and preparation in the morning.We are planning to have business talks with 6 companies in the afternoon.
The interpreter was a Malaysian man who studied at a university in Kyushu and worked as an engineer at a large Japanese company.He returned to Japan and started a company, importing used large motorcycles from Japan and selling them in Malaysia.Due to tariffs, large motorcycles cost about double the price in Japan, but they are popular.He said he was worried about the economic downturn.
Six companies were scheduled to hold business meetings, but two companies canceled at the last minute, which is common at JETRO business meetings, resulting in four companies.We haven't reached the point where we can conclude a contract, but we are continuing business negotiations with all four companies and will be exchanging emails without an interpreter from now on.
